Arnaud has over 45 years of experience in training and teaching Japanese martial arts including 30+ years in the Bujinkan (Ninjutsu).

He travels three times a year to Japan to train under the guidance of the Sōke (grand master) Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi.

As part of his responsibilities as a Dai Shihan (master instructor), Arnaud Coursergue has given seminars all over the world and conducted many Taikai (International training sessions).

Biography

Arnaud Cousergue was born in 1959 in Casablanca, Morocco. He began his martial arts training in Jūdō September of 1969 and earned his Shōdan May of 1979. While in the USA spending six months in California during his MBA course at CSUC, Arnaud discovered Yawara style Jū Jutsu. The French Federation of Karate also awarded him with a 3rd dan Karate jutsu black belt. After returning to France, Arnaud went to the military academy of St Cyr and became an officer and an instructor for the 1st French Marine Infantry Regiment (1st RIMA).

Arnaud discovered Ninjutsu (Budō Taijutsu) through Sylvain Guintard in June of 1984, and received his Shidōshi license in September 1989 in Munich. Since then, Arnaud has received his 15th dan in Budō Taijutsu (Ninjutsu).

In 1990, he began traveling to Japan and had since directed the growth of the Bujinkan in France and other countries.

Promoted to Jū dan (10th dan) in July 1993, Arnaud started to teach Bujinkan to many groups on the planet: Europe, America, South America, India, UAE.

He has visited and trained in Japan over 50 times in the last 25 years and has attended numerous events abroad with Hatsumi Sensei.

Arnaud Cousergue has also received a Menkyo Kaiden in Fūgyō Happō Biken in 2004 and a Menkyo Kaiden in Tachi Waza in 2004 (a Menkyo is the highest rank of transmission in Japanese martial arts).

He holds Black Belt ranks in Jūdō 1st Dan, Karate 3rd Dan, Bujinkan Taijutsu 15th Dan He is commonly known as the "Shiro Kuma" and is the technical mentor to many Dōjō groups around the world.
