Kukishin Biken Jutsu
Sword fighting is what made the Samurai famous. The sword fighting system of the Kukishin Ryū is one of the most efficient ways to use a sword. These videos first introduce the basics: Torite (holding), Suburi (body movement), Kamae (stances), Happō Kiri (cutting) and Nuki Gatana (drawing the blade).
The second part deals with the Waza of the Kukishin. Each one of the nine basic techniques is followed by a Sayu Gyaku (reverse), and a Henka (variation).
The "3x3" structure makes it easy to understand the perfect timing: In waza 1, 2, 3 you move "after the beginning of the attack"; in waza 4, 5, 6 you move "during the beginning of the attack"; in the last ones (7, 8, 9) you move "before the beginning of the attack.
